Solarwinds Active Diagnostics: Network Ports failing

Good afternoon,

I've recently purchased NPM and am trying to get it installed and running. Tech support cannot seem to figure most of this out so I've just been troubleshooting it on my own and trying desperately to get it up and running. I've got it mostly finished but have network ports not working.

I'm using a Server 2012 box for the NPM software application and a Server 2008 box with SQL Express 2014 installed. Everything installed fine but when I run the Solarwinds Active Diagnostics tool, I get the following errors. I have turned off the firewall for Domain, Public and Private networks, disabled the Server 2012 firewall from services but regardless it still shows these TCP and UDP ports failing below. Does anyone have any solutions? I'm stressing that I'm going to have resort to calling the tech support because it never resorts to anything getting resolves, and usually means me being the one figuring out the problem, not them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You should not need to turn off the firewall, but you may need to punch holes through it.

what is displayed when you click on each of the red dots.

e.g. a working msmq TCP shows "Found process 'mqsvc' listening on TCP port 1801."

The diagnostic message there can be helpful.

Note: some of the 'errors' come from solarwinds services not running, e.g. syslog UDP port reports "Found process 'SyslogService' listening on UDP port 514."

so if the SW syslogservice is not running it will create an errror

The active diagnostics tells me that something is causing these services to fail, perhaps a database connection not working?

what is in the logfile for the solarwinds syslog service?

what is in the logfile for the SolarwindsInformationServiceV3 ?

Finally, Open a case with support, yes you might solve it before they do, but they might equally be able to tell you exactly what is failing, and after all you've paid for support.
