Get table feature

I've seen other threads about this, but I feel it needs its own.

When polling a MIB with multible entries, only the first entry is displayed.
Here are some examples:

1. I am testing the MIB Custom Poller and having great success except for one element that I must be missing.

I am having issues getting values for subsequent instances of table entries.

One example is querying a HP LaserJet 2840 for toner cartridge levels. The black cartridge (inst. 1) comes out fine but the other cartridges (insts 2-5) do not. I cannot query them.

2. I'm trying to get data from a temperature probe with 2 sensors. The OID for sensor 1 is 1.3.6.1.4.1.13045.1.1.2.2.1.4.1 the OID for sensor 2 is 1.3.6.1.4.1.13045.1.1.2.2.1.4.2. If I use SNMP GET when I test both MIBS I get the correct value- of let's say 68, but on the web site it gives a value of 0. (this is the same for both sensors)
If I use SNMP GET NEXT and use the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.13045.1.1.2.2.1.4 (note the .1 is missing from the end) I can get the value of the first temp probe (1.3.6.1.4.1.13045.1.1.2.2.1.4.1) without any problems, but I am unable to get the value for sensor 2 (1.3.6.1.4.1.13045.1.1.2.2.1.4.2) using this method.

3. I'm trying to populate a table that shows users on a Cisco AS5400. Using OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.19.1.3.1.1.3, I only get the user that's been logged on the longest.

Is this ever going to be resolved, or can it be added as a feature?

I think you need to point to the exact OID you are looking for information from and then do an SNMP GET, not the default "GET NEXT"

I've had the same issue trying to get vlan info for ports on a Catalyst switch, it returns the first interface and then no others. I think it's because most suppliers now put that sort of information in MIB tables and as yet the Custom MIB poller does not support retrieval of a table and as most of Cisco's useful interface info is in a table I won't be moving to v8 until this is fixed as that is the only benfit I see for us from v7.

Pointing to the exact OID is impossible in my case. The AS5400 uses a dynamic OID for each user.

I don't see enough people complaining about this so I don't see Solarwinds implementing it any time soon. I talked to an engineer at SW and he said he didn't think it was possible in the current version. It also didn't sound like they have even considered fixing this issue.
I can't believe that this isn't in the top five feature wish list.

Right. You can't Get Table in the 8.0 Custom MIB Poller. It is high on our list of upgrades to the Custom MIB Poller.

In Orion 8.0, we shipped our first iteration of the Custom MIB Poller, but it won't be the last.

It's always important to get something to real customers so that they can tell the product team what they should do next.

I will also chime in and say this needs to be a priority. The customers waited a very long time for this release and it seems a lot of pieces to 8.0 are incomplete or have work left to do on them.

Thanks for the response. It's reassuring that it's at least on the list. Is there and ETA, or just the standard, "It's being worked on"?

Five months later, and an upgrade to 8.1 and no "get table" for the Custom MIB Poller. I have several devices and applications that I cannot pull complete information from including my APC Environmental Monitors, or looking at Cisco IP SLA values for jitter and RTT on multiple streams. It is becoming a political issue in terms of "Why do we have Orion if it can't monitor what MRTG/Cacti/other products can?"
