Why are DB server READ queue's so high?

OK so you expect the write queue to be high running netflow, APM etc. But my write queue's on my dedicated DB server are fine it is the read queue's that stay so high. Is this expected? Or do I have something wrong?

If this is expected when will it be addressed?

I've talked to Dev, and it's not obvious why your read queue is high. It's not expected. Are you running any reports repeatedly and frequently, for instance? The real question is what is it reading.

None that I know of.

We do have a good bit of web traffic though.

Do you know which pages the various users are routinely using?

They would be the "dashboards" we have created for them. So if they open a page to keep an eye on things it would be full of top 10 for this and top 10 for that. For example in our main area we have 3 70 inch TVs and one of them always has a SolarWinds page up for everyone to see, the users would be doing the same type of thing just on their desktop.
