anyone knows how to estimate solarwinds database size for a new deployment around 200 devices with 48 interfaces each?
Mario, there are several factors that go in to this. Are you collecting any syslog data or monitoring any wireless access points? What about UnDPs and volumes (memory)? Are you using the default data retention and polling settings? Are you just running NPM or other products?
Based on general assumptions about your environment I would allocate at least 10 GB to start. If you are collecting a lot of syslog or wireless data this number could change noticeably.
Will not collect syslog data as we have another platform to collect it but we will collect snmp trap from the device
I will plan for 20 GB and will work from this estimation
I also have the same inquiry. Our customer is asking for the database size evolution. client wants to know an estimate time frame before they hit 4GB limit of Express SQL,with only NPM installed (as of last visit 3094 interfaces monitored) that is under SLX license.
