Anybody have issues with Orion 7.7 Installation
bpaley
Anyone else have any problems installing Orion NPM 7.7? I am getting a runtime '5' error during the "Welcome Screen" in Configuration Wizard. Everything else (SQL, Website, and Services) installed fine and the website is up and running but when I try to login to Orion System Manager it says it's "Connecting to Polling Engine" and then it shuts down. I am unable to get in to add/edit/remove nodes. Anyone else experience anything like this?

I haven't had any problems since upgrading to 7.7, went like a dream. The first time I tried to connect to the system manager I got a similar problem but I restarted the server and gave it a while and tried again and it worked fine.

I am running 7.5 and am going to upgrade to 7.7.. dumb question.. is this a straight install over the top or do I need to unstall the 7.5 system and leave the SQL database in place???..
I know it sounds dumb but the admin guide says uninstall the app only v6 or prior.....
I am guessing that with 7.5 the straight over the top upgrade will work

I upgraded from 7.4 and put 7.7 straight over the top I took a backup of the web site and Orion config just in case, but the upgrade worked a treat and I had no problems.
