Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Retaing periode
hez
Hi,
Just wondering if I change the registry value
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SolarWinds.Net\SWNetPerfMon\Settings]
"Retain Hourly"="180"
Up to let's say 360 Will this work ?
Is the limitation in the System manager (180 days) only to "protect" the DB against exsessive usage ?

You are exactly right.
You can change the registry setting to increase the hourly retention period.

Hmm,
After changing the registry value, I've now get the following DialogBox when i try to go into "Orion Network Performance Settings"
Run-time error '380':
Invalid property value
If I change back the RetainHourly it open's again.
I'm currently running System Manager Version 7.7.15, would this work in a later version, or ?

Yep... that makes sense. Since the value is outside of the allowable range, you should get an error.

But...
Forgot to mention that the System Manager disappears on me also.
So If I need more Hourly retaing than 180, I need to go into registry if I need to change something in the "Orion Network Performance Settings" Window... change it to 180 again, and try to rember to change it back to 400 before the Nightly Job, deletes all my data...
Or is there an update on this issue coming ?
