Can I Perform successful testing using Hello java Program on a Server and monitor using JMX. Means without running any application?

I got my answer, however my ask was if I do not have any real java application running on a server then can I create one simple java program and run the server and then monitor the same via solarwinds. I succeeded in creating one sample java application and ran it in my development and boom solarwinds JMX monitor started working. But I was not able to explore MBeans using component Wizard not sure why. May be because my program completes within 30 secs and I have to run it again.

I'm not familiar with 'Hello java' so I can't say for certain. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by 'without running any application'. SAM monitors Java Application servers like Tomcat, Glassfish, etc.. The only applications needed are SAM and the Java Application server you're monitoring.
