Triggering advanced alerts on multiple conditions?

I'm trying to create an alert that does the following for percentage drive space used:

The alert must trigger for mulptile node names (server) and trigger each time a threshold is created for each server and each drive.

I've included a screen shot of the alert editor. My problem is how and where to put the node name is equal to ..... and how to nest that condition?

The way the current alert reads both Ares and Apollo would have to have a drive alert condition before the alert would trigger. I want the alert to trigger on any of the node names in the rule. I'm going to have upwards of 50 nodes to add. Another obvious question is can I have the rule refernce a list of node names or objects containing the nodes?

Hi Steve,

To put you through less pain, you might want to group the Nodes that you would like to have this Advanced Alert associated with - with Custom Properties.

The following is a Video Tutorial on usage of Custom Properties: SolarWinds Tutorial - Orion Custom Properties

And the following are what you ought to do:

1. Create a new Custom Property

2. Tag the Nodes to the Custom Property

3. Update the Advanced Alert to something similar:

Trigger Alert when all of the following apply

Volume Type is equals to Fixed Disk

[Custom Property] is equals to [Value]

Trigger Alert when any of the following apply

Volume Percent Used is greater than or equal to 90

Volume Percent Used is greater than or equal to 95

Volume Percent Used is greater than or equal to 98

* Replace [Custom Property] and [Value] with what was created in Step 1 and 2.

Note: The usage of the following -

Trigger Alert when any of the following apply

Volume Percent Used is greater than or equal to 90

Volume Percent Used is greater than or equal to 95

Volume Percent Used is greater than or equal to 98

If the Advanced Alert is triggered for any 1 of the Volume Percent Used threshold, it will not re-trigger.

E.g. if it goes above 90%, it will be triggered. But subsequent thresholds that are met (e.g. if the value then hits above 95% or 98%), it will not be considered as a new trigger.

Well the goal is to create an alert that will trigger for each volume for each threshold every time. How would I go about doing that if an advanced alert won't fire as you described?

It would require 3 advance alerts. This is not very dificult. Create the first one then copy and alter the copies to match the criteria for each.

I'm a little confused on why I would need to create three alerts. Are you suggesting one for each drive percentage?

I've already gotten that part of the alerts to work. They do kick off at the intervals we needed. What I'm stuck on is how to have the alert to kick off for ANY of the systems I want monitored and how to group those so I'm not entering 50+ systems in the alert. I'll keep experimenting with it.
