I'd like to be able to be notified if a server stops being monitored by DPA. We lost about a month and a half of metrics before anyone noticed the monitor had stopped. Thank you in advance for the assistance.

Mark, there is a built in alert (alerts -> manage alerts tab -> administrative).
Click the dropdown and select Database Instance Availability and walk through the set up.
That should notify you that monitoring has gone down.
