Node disappeared from database

Has anyone experienced node(s) disappearing from database. Event log does not show node being removed (accidental removal). However I've queried the database and no sign of node. Not sure if its coincidence or not, but missing node happened to be our largest & most important node (in excess of 2000 interfaces/vlans - it was a Cisco 6513). Due to criticality of historical information for the interfaces which also appear to be gone, we are looking at performing a db restore. However I am really curious if this behaviour has struck anyone else, or if anyone has any insight as to why this might have occurred. We are running NPM v10, SQLServer 2008 Enterprise (64bit). This is serious grief. Our DBA is in the process of restoring older versions of the db so that I can query to get a sense of exact date node disappeared.

Yes, I've also noticed these disappearing nodes over the past weekend. I have no idea when this started to occur. 2 to 3 weeks ago I upgraded to our Orion NPM 10.1.1 to 10.1.2... that same week I installed the UDT Beta/Trial as well. Our SQL server is running SQL2008 64-bit as well.

However, I hadn't noticed anything missing until this late last week. And since then, I'm noticing lots of nodes missing from our maps (ie. nodes and/or interfaces are grayed out).

I just installed NPM 10.1.3 today hoping Solarwinds fixed these issues but apparently not. This could be a very painful exercise to identify and re-add all these nodes back into NPM... not to mention the historical data we apparently have lost.

I have not heard or seen this from any other users. Did you both install and evaluate UDT? Can you both please open a support ticket so we can investigate.

Just discovered 2 more nodes - again extremely large nodes with respect to the # of interfaces etc that are included. These happen to be 2 Cisco 6509's - had been in the database for 3 years. I have narrowed down that they went missing between 1-apr-2011 and 30-apr-2011. Event log (including cleared events) - shows no removal of interfaces or these 2 nodes. They just vanished.

This is serious grief for having lost the 3 yrs of historical data - particularly of WAN interface.

There is obviously an issue that needs to be identified and resolved as we are losing trust in reliability of nodes table. I will proceed with opening a case with Solarwinds. We are running NPM 10.1 SLX, have 3 additional pollers, and separate SQLServer 2008 64-bit.

Is it at all possible to perform a selective restore of a single node - and a single interface ?
