Custom Properties for Wireless Access Points (WAP)

To get more out of the monitoring network, I'm looking for custom properties that can be set on a Wireless Access Point.

Custom properties can now only be set on nodes (added in NPM) or on interfaces.

Extend this to nodes found using a WLAN Controller.

Any suggestions?

Sadly Orion doesn't consider AP's that are discovered via a WLC to be Nodes, so you can't add any custom data. They are just endpoints that the WLC is providing some information about. Unless you add the AP as an SNMP Node you won't be able to add any Custom Property data.

I expected this, It should be in the Feature Requests, this way Orion NPM can build an inventory of NetWork assets

I'm having to import/copy them using a script from the wireless tables to a node and add the custom properties I wanted to add, at least this way they are pinged to make sure they are up and have visibility. they are added to our maps as well from there to build a building by building picture.
