Volume variable without serial number?

Is there a variable which displays the fixed disk volumes without the serial number? All my alerts have these which gets annoying sometimes.

I have the same issue, but I went into the Database Manager and changed the Caption line to remove the serial number.

Found it! It looks like I might have to do this one by one. Is there an easier way?

We were starting to look into Volume monitoring as well. We don't usually Label our volumes and so far the notifications have looked pretty messy with that information. I see you can rename the caption through the System Manager but that's a one by one operation that is very time consuming! Is there a better way?

Necropost, but since this question is still unanswered and open I guess it's OK? At any rate it's 2017, has anyone found a proper way to handle this? I have zero need to have a volume serial number be visible.

Another necropost... I found an old thread showing how to remove the serial number from an alert email. (Anyone how to get a volume name with the ID? ) However, I want to remove the volume serial numbers from a report.
