Hardware RAID disk health status, a HP DL380 G7 server with a P410i raid card

Hi,

Anyone know which mib and also which OID to go for to get the the health status

of a LUN on a Windows 2008 R2 server running on a HP DL380 G7 server

with the P410i card.

I have installed the HP Management addon SW (snmp) so "it" should be there somewhere.

I am new to Solarwinds and want to know step by stpe guide how can i monitor HP server hardware like disk status, cpu status etc.

Start with the SolarWinds Orion NPM Administrator Guide, specifically the chapter, "Discovering and Adding Network Devices" for adding devices for monitoring. If you have further questions, please post again on thwack.

Hi,

Thanks for your quick reply. I have gone through discovery process and now i can see devices. But I need to know how to monitor HP server Hardware status for example if any disk failes, cpu utilization or temprature how can get this information. I know on internet if i search for this and get to use MIB or ODI but i dont know where to start from how can install HP MP addon on solarwinds and how can get HP server hardward information.

Try the following on your Orion NPM server:

Log in to your Orion Web Console (Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Orion Web Console).
In the All Nodes resource on the Orion Summary Home view, click + next to HP to expand your monitored HP devices.
Click an HP device. This will open the Node Details view for your HP device.
Both the CPU Load & Memory Utilization resource and the Min/Max Average CPU Load chart will give you CPU load for the selected device.
The Disk Volumes resource provides insight into disk status. Click any volume listed to get more information on the Volume Details view for the selected disk.
You can get temperature information using a Universal Device Poller (UnDP) with the appropriate OID. For more information, see "Monitoring MIBs with Universal Device Pollers" in the SolarWinds Orion NPM Administrator Guide.

If you are not seeing what you want on any particular view, chances are, there is an unused chart or resource that is available to add. For more information, see "Customizing Views" in either the SolarWinds Orion Common Components Administrator Guide or the SolarWinds Orion NPM Administrator Guide.
