Advanced alerts not triggering

I want to trigger an alert based on a custom binary property and node status. My conditions are something like this:

Node Status is equal to Down
CustomProperty is equal to Yes

However, this alert never triggers. The same condition (without custom property) works fine in basic alerts and triggers correctly.

I have even tried using just the first condition ( Node Status is equal to Down ), but the alert is not triggered.

I have watched the tutorial on creating advanced alerts but I have no clue what I'm doing wrong. Am I missing something?

I'm using Orion 8.0.1

Is this when you are testing the alert? There were issues when testing Adv. Alerts in that version you are using (among other things). Do you recall if you applied the hotfixes that were released for the alerting engine in that version?

I would strongly suggest that you upgrade to 8.1 or 8.5.1 at the very minimum. This version you are on is no longer supported www.solarwinds.com/.../supported_products.aspx

I cannot test this alert, because Orion asks me to select the appropriate alert to test, and no advanced alerts appear in the list, only the basic ones. This could be the issue you're talking about in this version.

I haven't installed any hotfixes. This is a clean install of the original 8.0.1 release. That's because my company had the license for v8, so we used that the other day when we set up a new machine for Orion.

I can't find any upgrades or hotfixes for 8.0.1 in my customer portal. I go to "Previous Service Packs and Hot Fixes" and all I can find are these:

Orion v8.5 - Hot Fix 1
Orion v8.1 - Hot Fix 1-6

However, these don't serve as a upgrade from 8.0.1 to 8.1. They require version 8.5 and version 8.1, respectively.

Our account manager at Solarwinds says all relevant updates and downloads that we have license for should be in the portal.

I don't really know what to do, maybe these updates are just missing from our portal, and I have to open a support ticket or something...

Since it is no longer supported that is probably why its not available. All of the hotfixes were rolled into 8.1- Assuming your maintenance is valid you should be able to upgrade quite easily. There is still a tutorial on how to upgrade from 8.0 to 8.1. www.solarwinds.com/.../SolarWindsOrion8.0to8.1upgrade.html

However feel free to open a ticket to determine the best path for your situation.
