NPM Installation

Hi,

Im upgrading our Solarwinds NPM and NCM by installing it to a new and higher server. Im not the one who install our previous one so im a little new in the process. My questions are:

1. New separate database: What are the preparation i need in installing the MSSQL server? Do i need a script coming from Solarwinds to setup all the tables needed?

2. About the license: Can I install the same license on the new server even the existing one is still in production?

If you're going to start with a new database then the installation of Orion will actually create the database, tables, etc. as well as the user account Orion will use for connecting to the database server. You need only provide the Configuration Wizard with an "sa" or equivalent account during installation and the Configuration Wizard will handle the rest.

You cannot use the same license on more than one machine simultaneously. You will first need to install the License Manager on your older Orion server before you can reclaim the license by deactivating it. Once the license is deactivated it is available for use on your new installation.
