SolarWindsPperformance

What are some good ways to check the performance of SolarWinds. Currently we have 2 servers both have 2 duel core Opterons 2.8 and 4 GB of ram the Data base is on the SAN and is about 52 GB. Both servers average less than 30% CPU usage and about 3 GB free ram. Network Usage is 0-4 % on average.

The issue is with alerts. When we test an alert it can take anywhere from 2 seconds to over an hour post the alert to the log file. In this wait no CPU spikes. We have seen this in the production environment also.

Any Ideas?

This doesn't sound like a hardward performance issue. What version are you using?

Hmm. Then that doesn't sound like a performance problem--it sounds more like an issue with the alerts. If you haven't, you should probably open a Support ticket so we can collect some info and help diagnose it.
