Monitor PIX 515
LCG
I have Orion 7.7.31 set to monitor my Cisco PIX 515. The PIX has IOS 6.3.4. SNMP is enabled on the PIX inside interface.
I can connect to the PIX with SNMP for monitoring, but Orion always shows the status of the PIX being down. I can see traffic going across the interfaces just fine and both the inside and outside interfaces are showing up.
Any ideas what I need to do to get this working properly? I imagine it's just something I need to adjust on the PIX.
Thanks,
Tony

Hi Tony,
Does your rule base on the internal interface of the PIX allow ICMP? Orion uses ICMP pings to determine the up or down status of a device. So while you may be able to gather statistics via SNMP your PIX appears to be down in Orion.
Be fantastic.

I found that while ICMP packets were allowed on the PIX, it was still blocking reply packets on the internal interface as a precaution against DDOS attack. I disabled that for the internal interface only and Orion starting showing everything as green.
