All servers are Windows 2008 R2. SQL is 2008 Standard. The newly added VMWare environment is v5.
I've recently added some more vCenter servers (3) and associated ESXs (~40) and VMs (not many yet) and as these are for a different part of our organisation I wanted to duplicate the Virtualization Summary but limit it to these servers eg. Custom Property - SupportAuth = 2.
I've tried this by copying and limiting the view using a group and dynamic query but this doesn't appear to work for me and looks like there may be some issue with logged in user and I don't want the limitation to be based on any particular user.
I also tried filtering in the copied view resource edit area but I was unable to get anything working there and continually got the error below after trying many combinations of SQL and WSQL simple filters (I'm not a big SQL person and these SQL/WSQL things with using different names for tables etc depending on what you had for breakfast this morning appears to be a real issue in this product).
The "Top 20 VMware Hosts by CPU Load" resource threw an exception.
RunQuery failed, check fault information.
I've looked around on Thwack etc and haven't been able to find much current stuff that deals with this nor been able to find any documentation that deals with this specifically enough for someone with my level of skill to get anywhere.
I'd appreciate assistance to get this going. TIA.
