Change IP address for Orion NPM server

Hello.

I need to change the IP address of my Orion server (hostname isn't changing) and would like to confirm I'm following the correct steps.

Below are the steps I believe are accurate

1. Shutdown Orion services

2. Change server IP address

3.  Open Database Manager.  Open Engines table and change Orion IP address.

4.  Restart Orion services

Once I shutdown the Orion services, a DNS change will be made and my new IP address will be added.  Will I still need to run the configuration wizard against the Orion Website or will that not be necessary since the hostname isn't changing and DNS should pickup the new IP address?

Please advise.

Thank you for posting the steps. Just for clarity did you change the IP address of your Database Server also?

Yes, Solarwinds support contacted me.

Below are the correct steps:

1. Open Orion Service Manager and select Shutdown Everything

2. Change server IP address

3. Run Configuration Wizard, (Services, Database, and Website should be checked)

4. Open Database Manager

5. Open Engines Table

6. Note the Engine ID of the new server

7. Open Alerts table

8. If necessary, change Engine ID for each alert to the Engine ID of your new server

I may have to do the samething here.

I just migrated our NPM installation over to a new server and just found out yesterday by my boss that he wants to have the new server have the same IP address of the old NPM server.

Has anyone gotten back to you with an answer yet on this?
