Get rid of some default menu items

We have SolarWinds NPM 12.x.

We have Splunk

We send Traps and Syslogs to Splunk because it is a Big Data system that can handle the data from thousands of devices, it is made for that after all.

We have useless menu items in SolarWinds for Syslogs and Traps:

You can edit that on a per user basis.

Go to Settings > All Settings > Manage Accounts and look for the user account in question and edit it.

Choose NO for the Show Syslog Menu and Show Traps Menu options. Hit SUBMIT.

And to elaborate on ekis's comment, hopefully you are using AD Groups to manage users, so that this is an easier customization to apply. We discourage the use of individual accounts in our Orion environment and only allow AD Groups to have accounts. Permissions and customizations are then applied against those Groups, meaning when a new person is hired and put into their job's AD Groups, they'll automatically have the access and views in Orion relevant to their job with no further work on our part.
