Hi Guys,
I have a Cisco 3750G GigabitEthernet interface that reached 1.0127 G bps, is it really possible for an interface utilization to reach above the physical limit?
Please see attached.
Thanks.
Hi Obet,
I think this is possible, that bursts like this could surpass the physical bandwidth. IMO, the moment it reaches 1.1 Gbps is I think the time when you should start doubting the traffic you are polling. Doing a load test again and simultaneously checking the traffic on the interface via console should further validate the data.
Thanks Pau for the information.
Please see attached screenshot. Utilization is way beyond the physical limit. Interface bandwidth is 1 Gbps and the utilization reached 140%. We do not have any 10 Gbps interfaces. Please advise. Our clients are already thinking that Solarwinds polling is inaccurate.
