Our shop is a Nortel shop. We have very little Cisco equipment and if we do that is limited to a firewall or 2.
Anyway I am curious if anyone else is having as many issues with the 9.1 upgrade as I am. We have basically lost our entire workflow and alerting capabilites since we moved to Orion 9.1
We litterally have thousands of interfaces monitored and hundreds of nodes and we have been using Orion since V7. We have always managed friendly names and other titles in the system manager and we also used those names in our alerts. Even the syslogging doesn't work anymore. Even though we have a DNS name, node ID, Caption and a system name none of that is displayed in the sys log viewer anymore.
I mean we understand that most folks are Cisco centric and we accept that but it is almost as if all Nortel support from SolarWinds has been abandoned. Our proactive monitoring workflow has basically halted and after several years of reliable service we are confused.
I am just curious if anyone has had this issue and if there is an easy fix. We are tired of calling SolarWinds and opening tickets or talking to customer service reps that is not getting our main cuatomer focus of proactive maonitoring going again. If it comaes back to loosing all of the last few weeks of data and reinstalling V8.5.1 that may not be worth our time and it may be best to persue other applications that are more enterprise network and Nortel friendly.
