Im pretty new to Orion so please forgive me if i do not use the right terminoligy or if it is just simple "user error"
I setup a group called NY Switches and added all the switches in NY
I then created an additional group called NY Core - Chilldren and added all the switches that are depended on the NYCORE switch
I now have 2 groups (same switches in two groups)
When the core node goes down, i am still getting multiple alerts such as the following for each node under the core dependency:
*** OK *** Node NYIDF37-4's packet dropped from above 40% to below 5%.
*** OK *** Node NYIDF37-4 is Up.
*** OK *** Node NYCORE is Up.
*** Critical *** Node NYIDF37-2 is Unreachable.
*** Critical *** Node NYCORE is Down.
1) Is the multiple alerts due to the same switches being in multiple groups?
2) if the core switch goes down i thought i would only get 1 alert stating it was down and not additional alerts saying that the dependencies are "unreachable"
3) Is there a way so that if the core switch goes down and you get an email saying that it is down, the email will include the info of the other switches (children switches)?
Hope that makes sense,
Thank you.
