HP iLO monitoring

after much searching I have decided to post this question. What is everyone doing to monitor the HP iLO? once discovered it does not find the dns entry. if found by ip, sometimes it is identified as a server?

I use a custom property to group all of my nodes and only ping my iLO's. I also rename them to iLO_<SERVERNAME>. A manual process, but I know it works and only have to do it once.

You can do many different things depending on what you want to monitor, you could just ping and not even use SNMP, or you could have APM log onto the web page. You could use APM to monitor SSH, or VNC.

all of our iLO's are configured with ilo-<servername> and manuall entries in DNS. I had maybe 3 that were identified by dns name when discovered. what are you discovering with SNMP on your iLO's?

I turned SNMP off on the iLO's. so I dont get anything.
