SWQL Variable - Logged In User

I would like to create some Reports/Widgets etc which dynamically filter based on the current logged in user account.

We use variables like {nodeid} in SWQL to return NodeIDs, Captions, etc.

Is there a variable or SQL or SWQL method to return the username, name or anything like that for the current logged in user?

So the variables that are available are all from the database table that these objects represent. So the node details pages can use any variable from the nodes table, volume details can use volumes, etc. At this point none of the variables pull data from the browser or session in the way you are asking, so the only way to make that happen would be to wrap your report in some javascript that scrapes that info and then passes it into a query. Nothing built in does anything like that but it could be done.

Depending on what you're limiting, this sounds more like a use for Account Limitations:

Hi.

Thanks for the links. Unfortunately we already use Account limitations as you linked above for things like the "Device Owner" to split out who owns what. However, SWQL for the current logged in user would allow us to do things like:

Report all Alerts that I have acknoledged.

have a widget displaying Alerts (like alert viewer) for only Alerts assigned to me

We can do all of these things already (like go to Alerts, change the filter, click my own name)

or write a report and statically put in my own name. But this means each user has to have their own report, rather than one dynamic report/widget etc that can be used by everyone.

There are a number of examples where everything we need exists, except the ability to insert "my name" or "my account" dynamically.

Thanks a Lot. Looks like its not possible by any in-built functions. I have just +1 for a feature request I have seen submitted already.
