I have an interface on a Cisco ASA that suggests it's transmitting at several hundred Petabits Per second on a Gigabit interface.
The interface is set to use 64 bit counters and we use Counter Rollover Method 1.
Any ideas what might be causing this?
Byron, can you open a support ticket so we can investigate further what is going on here.
Someone else recently started a thread about the same thing. They said the issue is resolved in v10.1. That thread is here:
Ah, thanks. I have been holding off on the upgrade until the dust settles a bit.
Yeah, I've been waiting for the dust to settle too.
I am now running on the most current version of Orion NPM but am still experiencing this issue on some of my network devices; most recently on a Cisco ASA. This node does have 64bit Counters enabled and my Counter Rollover is set to Method 1.
Can somebody please explain what is causing this and what I might be able to do in order to fix it?
I have a new screenshot below...
As noted in my last post, this is still a problem on the most current version of NPM.
Any update to this, I just ran into the same thing. I don't think our ASA was pushing 4.5 Gbps of data on a 1 Gbps link. Most of the spikes seem to be in the 500 Mbps range but there is no way we could generate that much traffic.
