Dell Remote Access Controller 5

I'm trying to add a Dell Remote Access Controller 5 (AKA ERA or DRAC) to Orion just like I've done to all my other DRAC4 controllers. The problem I'm running into is it seems that the new DRAC's don't support the interface MIB. My question is how can I add this node to Orion so I can assign custom MIB pollers to the DRAC (which they support)?

Has anyone else run into this problem with the new DRAC5 controllers from Dell?

Yes. The device needs to be added through the Orion web interface, and not through System Manager. The node manager in the web interface isn't dependant on the interfaces MIB.

I didn't understand if you finally manage to use MIB pollers to the DRAC and (which they support)?

Are you also stuck with ICMP Mode Only?

Hey Chuck. The Dell DRAC 5 does not support the interfaces MIB and therefore can not be added to Orion using the System Manager since its dependant on the Interfaces MIB for nodes to be added to Orion. The Web Node Manager does not have this limitation and therefore you can add SNMP nodes to Orion that don't support the interfaces MIB such as the Dell DRAC 5. Once the node is added you can then begin to add UDP (Universal Device Pollers) to the node.

FYI: You will not be able to assign UDP monitors to an ICMP only node.

Yes I understand that, I did the registration throught the web console and already configured SNMP on both ends, I am gettting snmp traps when I intentionally trigger alerts like unplugging a redundant powercord or opening the chasis.

But now I want to assign UDP monitors and don't know witch OID are supported for retreiving voltage or temperature status

I tried some OIDs from the dell branch of the MIB browser but I'm only retrieving the name of the product and service tag of the server...

can you share me the custom UDP you use for DRAC5 ?

I use that for DiskState. You can find others under this tree for alerts, vendor, etc.

I have not got responses for voltages and fans, however. I am curious of alterego's reply.
