Custom Device Pollers - Polling Alphanumerical Text (Ex. GPS Coordinates)

I am trying to display the GPS Latitude and Longitude for GPS clocks that I am monitoring.

I have created a custom device poller (Text) that I am only allowed to display as a Gauge (I'm not keeping historical data).

Because the Lat and Long from my specific devices is represented in alphanumerical form (N044... W126...)

I have the same issue with serial numbers. When you have a 7 digit serial number the gauge works but doesn't mean anything.
