Error = [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

I'm at a loss here. Upgraded MSDE to MSSQL Enterprise and now I cannot access the Orion webinterface anymore. Orion application can access the database without problems, ran the configuration wizard again and got some errors:

HTTP Error message 404 re-mapped to C:\InetPub\SolarWinds\admin\404.htm
Web site script mappings limited to .asp and .asa
Warning: Was unable to migrate Version 6 website.
Web Configuration (Application Monitor Initial Configuration.NPMWebBackup) merged into SQL database.
Error: Could not load Web Configuration (Application Monitor Initial Configuration.NPMWebBackup). Automation error
The remote procedure call failed.
Web Configuration (NetPerfMon Initial Configuration.NPMWebBackup) merged into SQL database.
Error: Could not load Web Configuration (NetPerfMon Initial Configuration.NPMWebBackup). The remote server machine does not exist or is unavailable
Web Configuration (Wireless-Networks Initial Configuration.NPMWebBackup) merged into SQL database.

I recently ran into the exact same problem with a brand new install.
You might try to look a this thread.
www2.solarwinds.net/.../topic.asp

I had to add the comma port number (,6000) to my host name to get it started. Even though Support told me there was no way to define a port number in the connect string.
