I am currently at Orion 9.1 SP5 and have been waiting for the right time to upgrade.
I would be interested to hear from others that have and have not upgraded.
What are the unresolved technical issues that you still see with 9.5?
Anyone?
When you upgrade........
1. All custom web pages will not run
2. Some maps will look wierd, you'll have to redo some of them
3. You will create several SW tickets
4. You will have energywise and wireless
5. GUI is improved
6. Eat up your memory a little bit more
7. Top known bugs and holes has been fixed (still have but minor)
8. etc
I suggest you upgrade 9.5 SP3 as long as you still have support.
Anyone else want to relate their experiences?
Thanks for your posts guys
1. All custom web pages will not run2. Some maps will look wierd, you'll have to redo some of them
Those 2 points alone are very concerning to me. We have a significant number of Custom web pages and many many maps; some of which are quite complex to create due to the number of devices and links on them so re-doing them is not an option. Is there a new way of creating or displaying custom webpages or is it that they just do not work after the upgrade?
I have been holding off upgrading; a precaution I always take, but I would usually by this time have taken the plunge and upgraded. This time however I am still unsure how to proceed. Those 2 statements above if still true are reason enough for me not to upgrade yet. If anyone has any additional or more updated info I would be extremely greatful.
cheers

Believer it or not, I am still waiting to upgrade to 9.5, but I am getting closer to pulling the trigger!
Now that SP3 is out, do any of you see any issues still outstanding that would cause one to pause, or should I finally take the plunge?
Thanks for helping a timid user.
Oh, almost forgot. Is there a map conversion utility included with 9.5, or does map conversion happen automitically during the upgrade?
I went 9.5 without to much fuss. Glad we did it, it was a pretty good upgrade.
Map conversion is supposed to happen automatically, and in our case it did. The only thing I had to do was readjust the column size on the web views that showed the maps.
I had quite a few custom views setup that were mostly unaffected by the upgrade. The only thing that blew up were pages where I had used "ORDER BY" in the filtering of an all nodes section. For some reason, I had to blow those pages away and create new ones.
The replacement of Map Maker with Network Atlas seems to be a big plus for some. The guy that makes all of our maps said that he likes Atlas a whole lot better...plus, you don't have to RDP into the server for mapping anymore...another plus.
