I tried 5.0.9 and the newest version on net-snmp website. The CPU still spikes to 100% no matter what. Anyone have any insight on how to fix this?
OS X Server 10.4.9
net-snmp 5.4
I'm having this problem as well: anytime I try to poll volume monitoring from Orion, the snmpd process on my OS X machine spikes up to 100% CPU usage and has to be killed.
Has anyone had any luck with this? Compiliing the latest version of net-snmp doesn't seem to help.
The workaround for this problem is to run monitoring scripts that act as custom MIBs ... see here for a few. Polling these won't make it freak out.
I'm having problem with OS X snmp where i could not view any cpu or memory. When i run snmpdf i get below respond.
Description size (kB) Used Available Used%

/dev 185 185 0 100%
/net 0 0 0 0%
/home 0 0 0 0%
/Volumes/Mac OS X Install ESD 4643448 4278196 365252 92%
What are the thing that i needed to configure to get memory and cpu load?

Is it possible to monitor the hardware health for Xserve servers?
