Hi,
I just wanted to consult if this is feasible to be done using NPM. The scenario are as follows
1. Router with auto-failover function will be provided before the client device and after the primary link (either DSL modem, FTTH and etc.) going to HQ of the client using the MPLS network of the ISP provider providing the primary (wired) link.
2. The secondary link will be provision with 4G/LTE sim card to connect from the 2nd ISP network provider and route it on the client HQ also.
3. what the client wants to do is to use their existing NPM to monitor the remote device via wired and wireless setup.
4. primary link will be the priority connection to be used in monitoring the client remote device.
5. In the event of wired link cuts down the sim provision will activate and become the backup link of the HQ in monitoring the remote device using 4G/LTE connection of the router. At this stage NPM must be able to monitor the remote client device until the primary link gets fix and return back to normal operation.
Scenario 2.
1. If the 4G/LTE connection will the be the primary link provision in the event that there is no wired link facility in the area so they want to be able to use the NPM also to monitor this remote device.
To summary, is it possible to monitor the remote device connected on either wired or wireless connection using SolarWinds NPM? What are the things that we need to consider in order to make the monitoring works properly especially on the 4G/LTE connection? Appreciate your comment on this matter.
Best Regards,
Ram
