Is It Possible to Pass Variables via URl into Orion

I have another monitoring application that can pass a limited amount of information to another Application. using the following format ;

ExternalServer{hostname}?hostip={hostip}?hostmac={hostmac}

My Question is - Can Orion use any of this information Name or Address to locate and Display that node?

Something like MyOrionServer/.../NodeDetails.aspx{hostip}

Is this possible, I would only be able to provide the Node Name Or Node Address, not the NodeID
