Average availability reports

I have created some custom reports that calculates average availability (in terms of percentage) for certian device groups.

We save these reports saved for 12 months and the value we reported 2 or 3 months ago is different from what we see today for the same month. Looks like, everytime you click on that report, it recalculates the avg. vlaue. How do I freeze these reports so that once it gets generated, the value gets locked in and it does not get re-calculated?

I recommend either manually saving the reports within the Report Writer or checking out the Report Scheduler. This free tool is available in your Customer Portal under the Orion Additional Components and is available to all Orion customers with maintenance and provides the ability to regularly save and email reports on a scheduled basis.

Update: The most recent Report Scheduler is actually available within your Orion installation, as long as you are running Orion v8.5 or later. You can access this tool at Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Report Scheduler.

How was the time period for the report configured to begin with? Did you set it up for a set date time frame (e.g. Jan.1 to Feb. 1), or is it set for a slidng period of time (i.e. 30 days)?

The time frame is fixed for a month, say March 1st through March 31st and not a sliding window.

I manually saved the reports on the reports folder. I normally save them on the first of every month for the previous month. (say on March 1st, I generate a report for Feb 1st through 29th).

When the report gets clicked on the web page, I know the saved report gets accessed because I could see all the title and descriptions. But the value does not reamin constant. We reported an average value of 99.984% for a device group in Jan 2008 and the same device group shows 99.927% in March 2008 even though I saved the static report.
