What happened to the custom property editor?

What happened to the server-based custom property editor, where you could directly view the database?

Since I updated to NPM 10.4, this now redirects to the open the a solarwinds web console to the custom property editor page? That happens to be significantly slower than editing the database directly. Is there still a way to access the "old view", without being forced into the web console?

Apparently w/ v10.4 they've modified the application so that you don't get the GUI for CPE. Instead it's ran from the web. You can select multiple nodes & select "Edit Properties" and configure it from there. It's not as easy to use as w/ the application itself but @ least you don't have to edit on a per node basis

I have not performed the upgrade to 10.4 yet, (will wait for a service pack first) but I want to see if you know if the database manager is still available in 10.4. This is where database manipulation is done. As for CPE, before 10.4 it was a separate executable and because CPE is used less than DB Manager I personally do not take issue with it being webified, but the DB Manager, YES...

Curious, how are you doing CPE within the DB manager? I was always using the separate executable.

You can also export to csv/xls to populate those custom properties and then import them back. I find my customers like the import/export for the initial load out and then the method that dfong1 mentioned for ongoing changes.
