Is there a way to send only one alert out about an x alert (if that makes sense) and then never get sent the same alert out over and over again?  We run a very dynamic environment that fluctuates from example a CPU running at 0% and then shooting up to 100% for a few moments and vice versa.

The only thing I can think of is that you monitor the alert every x hours (200 hours) or you set the trigger condition longer - say an hour, or 30 minutes.

There's a setting in the trigger & reset conditions that says "do not alert unless the condition has existed for more than X time period." You can set that to a multiple of the polling interval so you're not getting notified about little spikes that aren't persistent for a period of time. For example, if you're polling for node status (including CPU) every 10 minutes (default) then you could have it wait for 20 or 30 minutes before it actually runs your alert actions.
