Why is this Solarwinds NPM website so slow???

Why is our website so extremely slow? Everything from logging in, clicking off to other pages, returning to the home page. Once the other page loads I cannot go back to the homepage or any other top menu link without it taking 5-10 minutes. Our server specs are below:

I have switched and am using the AJAX node list. No help.

Solarwinds server:
-Windows 2003 SP2
-2.5GB RAM
-Xeon 3.06GHz CPU

SQL server:
-Windows 2003 SP2
-1GB RAM
-2GHz CPU
-Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition

Your SQL Server looks a bit underpowered unless you have a very smaller environment. 1 GB of RAM is not much for a SQL Server. How many elements are you polling? If every single page is slow, that's where we would look first because the web site is reading from the DB.

One thing you might do is look at the performance counters on your database. What's the CPU usage on your DB server? What's the Disk Queue Length on your DB Server?

We are polling:
116 Node elements
384 Interface elements
492 Volume elements

I am also using SolarWinds to monitor our SQL server and the total server in general is OK, cpu is averaging 10% and memory is around 75% used. Let me setup performance stuff and monitor the queue length.

Well, that might be a problem with a proxy or something else. The Dev team suggested that you open a Support ticket so that we can get more info.

first and formost RAM for SQL is less and how many devices are you polling ??

I am having same problem but i switch from RAID 1 to RAID1+0
