I have some question on the Solarwinds/Orion and ServiceNow Integration.
The Networks contains:
WAN Circuit, Router, L3 Switch, Access Switch, WAPs and other network device to be monitor.
1.SW generate alerts &ServiceNow generate tickets when the node goes down.
If the node in this case was a router and it goes down hard. ServiceNow will create a ticket automatically. But, the service now will also create tickets for the other nodes behind the routers although it was only a single device failure or a circuit failure. Hundreds of tickets unnecessarily created in that case, if a large site with a hundred of device on it. What is the best implementation if this is case?
2.SW& ServiceNow to generate tickets for the Router that goes down:
If the ServiceNow instance will only to create a ticket for the down Router. The ServiceNow will be only limited to this function and therefore will not be able to automatically create ticket for the other device such as L3 switch and access switch. By doing so will goes back to issue mentioned above.
Any thoughts?
