Info on maps

Hi all, just a very basic question (I'm new to Orion):

How can I edit the information that pops up when you hover over a link in a map?

By default it seems to show the interface name, bw and status, but I would like to add additional info for the NOC.

I use version 8.5.1. Any help would be appreciated :-)

In the system manager- select the nodes from the node list and right click- you can change the name quickly, however I think you are wanting the Custom Property Editor-

Hopefully it works for you in V8.5.1, as it was broken in V8.1

Actually we have the Custom Property Editor, and I have added some custom properties for both nodes and interfaces. So far so good.

But I cannot figure out how to actually show the custom properties I have added on my maps. By default it seems to show only the two first columns of custom properties (IP address and caption, which are probably imported from Solarwinds?), but the properties I have added does not display when hovering over nodes/interfaces with the mouse.

(I have also found the MapToolTipTemplates.asp, but not sure if I can add my custom properties from there?)

Yes, you can display your custom properties in the mouse-over pop-up box, as explained in the previous link.

Here is what I currently have set in mine;

Custom Tool Tip Template for Nodes
${NodeName}${CR}${Building}${CR}${IPAddress}${CR}Node Status ${Status}${CR}Type: ${MachineType}${CR}IOS Image: ${IOSImage}${CR}IOS Version: ${IOSVersion}

Enter a template using any of the Node Macros (including Custom Properties)

Some examples :
${NodeName}${CR}${StatusDescription}${CR}${MachineType}
${NodeName}${CR}Response Time is ${ResponseTime}

This one contains a custom interface property I created called "if_IP"

Custom Tool Tip Template for Interfaces
IP: ${if_IP}${CR}Port: ${IfName}${CR}In: ${Inbps}${CR}Out: ${Outbps}${CR}Max In Today: ${MaxInBpsToday}${CR}Max Out Today: ${MaxOutBpsToday}
