Application Monitoring

Now that we have the network monitoring side sorted we are looking at application monitoring.

Does anyone know if Solarwinds will be developing application monitoring in the future if not can anyone recommend a decent application monitoring tool?

Hey all,

I just noticed the following fields in the list of Events to display in the dropdown box;

Type of Event: "Application Stopped" & "Application Restart"

as well as the newly discovered: "UnManage Node" & "Manage Node "

Could this possibly mean the next version of Orion will support application (service) monitoring?

It's definitely not a matter of if, but a matter of when. I don't think it's uncommon for a framework to be built around future planned features, especially with any kind of open storage model.

I am curious, though, just how my already heavily-loaded poller is going to function as more features and pollable cool items are added.
