Requesting Info from ORION

Question

This might sound unusal,  but I have ORION monitoring the whole network and a secondary bespoke application that monitors other types of non commercial comms equipment.

This secondary application is also the primary interface to an end user system that receives reports on the status of the equipment.

I know ORION can forward on SNMP traps to other applications etc via ALERTS, but this method is unreliable and wondered if an SNMP retrieval can be done to ORION to obtain network status, i.e. UP or DOWN via a MIB or XML file request for example?

I know I can do this method to all the network equipment but wondered if it can be obtain via a central point, i.e. ORION

The aim is for this secondary application to present a basic UP/DOWN status to the primary end user system.
