W3WP.EXE Memory Leak?

I've been trying to troubleshoot an access issue with our NPM web site when I noticed after the site crashed again that the process "w3wp.exe" had consumed over 1.5GB of RAM. After the poller/web server was rebooted, this process was back down to under 100k.

In reading through the forums here it seems that this is a known problem that was addressed in 9.5 SP3. We're already at 9.5 SP4, but still experiencing the system access problems (missing charts and graphs or a complete inability to access the web site either from the server or remotely) that I believe are caused, at least in part, by this system memory problem.

I've cotinued to watch this process eat up memory all day long. Stopping and restarting the IIS services releases the memory for the moment, but I'm looking for a more permanent fix if one exists.

I am seeing the same issue.  I this service w3wp.exe process well ove 2gb.   I checked the Permission Checker and corrected the permissions on C:\Windows\Temp\ folder.   Still getting high memory utilization from that process.

Just checking any update on this . Do you still have the same issue ?

This could be due to many reasons. ( I would like to see the Diagnostics from your server in order to see further )

meanwhile

- Run the Orion Permission Checker and see if you have some permission issues.

C:\All Programs\SolarWinds\ Orion \ OrionPermissionChecker.exe

if you see any failure please assign the correct rights to directory.

Web site began unresponsive, wasn't able to do anything.  Actually got an 'out of memory message' when trying to refresh a page.  should have taken a screen shot... :-(

Logged on to the server and saw that the process was using up about 1.2 GB of memory.

Shut everything down with Orion Service Manager, brought everything back up fine.

Process is now using about 160-165 MB of memory.  I haven't opened a ticket yet, wanted to see if I'd get any responses first.
