Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Host Resources MIB problem
jbeale
Hi,
I have just downloaded and installed Orion Network Performance Monitor, and also the Application Monitor bolt-on. Both have installed seemingly without problems, and Network Performance Monitor opens and runs fine. However, why I right click on a client and select Application Monitoring, I get the following error message:
[machine name] does not support the Host Resources MIB or it is not responding to SNMP queries.
I know that the machine does respond to SNMP queries as I have used another piece of software to test this, so could anyone please tell me what needs to be done in order to correct this MIB error? I have downloaded a file called HOST-RESOURCES-TYPES.mib but am unsure if this is what is required or where it should be placed.
Thanks for any help,
James.

Hey James,
What type of device is it?
Cisco router, Windows PC or ?
Did you test SNMP from the server you are running Orion to this device (may be an ACL)?
Are you using the correct community string?
See these topics:

SNMP strings are case sensitive
