Missed Polls when accessing System Manager

We are starting to see a trend with missed polls when admins log into the System Administrator. We currenlty have terminal services locked down for only one user at a time, which seems to have reduced the missed polls some. But, we still show an outage on charts during the time periods when the manager is up.
I believe the issue might be that system manager is taking up all the resources for the NetPerfMon service therefore allowing any polls during that time to be missed.
Has anyone seen or experienced this issue? We are currently looking into ordering an additional SLX polling engine to relieve some of the 11,000 elements we are monitoring.
