I admittedly don't know how to do this, so I'm asking here. I created a user 'Bob' who is a basic user. He doesn't have admin rights and can't customize his page when he logs in. What I want is for Bob to be able to see all of the sites that he's responsible for, and only those sites. I don't want him to have access to anything else. I was able to do this by creating view limitations, but what I noticed is that he still had all of the original "admin" page layouts like syslog, custom links, etc. So, I logged back in as admin and set it so Bob could customize his pages. I logged out, logged back in as Bob, removed what I didn't want him to have and then logged out. I was going to log back in as admin to change his "customize page" settings back, and I noticed that everything I removed from his account was now removed from my admin account.
Is there a way to customize pages per user?

One particular thing that I need to do is not show my map to anyone but Administrators.
