Orion Elements with Same IP but differentt Port Address

I am wondering if it is possible to have multiple elements in Orion with

the same IP address, but diffrent port numbers. I want to use Orion

to access devices behind a router with private IP (192.168.x.x.). I

can manualy get to each device with the same external IP using a

different port number. I would like to have Orion pull SNMP info

from each device using a different forwarded port number.

This is something we may consider for the future, but it's not possible now.

I'm also in great need of being able to query multiple ports behind 1 IP address. I am monitoring multiple networks with overlapping IP addresses so it would be nice to be able to do this through port forwarding.

The Node table uses "nodeid" as its unique key so why would it matter if the IP address was not unique?

It is true that the NodeId is really the Primary Key, but as far as I've seen, the Web frontend will overwrite the first node that matches the IP address.

I ran into this situation with a Calix C7 network - Shelves are pulled via proxy ports - 10.10.10.10:5000, 10.10.10.10:5001

What I had to do to get this work was get into the database itself and insert a copy of the 10.10.10.10:5000 node with an incremented (or simply unique) NodeId and a changed SNMPPort value (can't remember the actual database column) to 5001.

I have a bit of verification to do, but this did the trick as far as I can tell.

I don't have a definitive SQL insert statement written up, as I was just trying to make sure it would even work, but I can provide if you need. AFAIK, this has little potential for damage, however, I would generally stay away from doing it if you are uncomfortable with database maintenance.
