Support for new devices on NPM

Question

Being using Solarwind NPM for more then 3 years now have enterpize version 10.1.1 with more then 2500 devices, the most troubling issues is additiona of new vendors or devices. Either i need to make UDP mannually or just keep waiting for someone to update the MIB files. i cant go and add the MIBs provided by vendors. 
Its not just with small time vendors, even Bluecoat proxy is not detected on its own and all i can monitor is the interface and uptime. Seems its made only for Cisco and Window.. why cant we have acess to add the MIBs provided by vendors.

Anyone with any ideas to do this in better way then writting UDPs for every since resource i need to monitor or i need to get into some other module of solarwinds to monitor it.

I think the OP has a valid question/feature request. After all, it seems that even with the latest upgrades, the solarwinds MIBs are not always the latest and greatest. To be fair, with so many vendors out there, keeping the MIBs up-to-date for every vendor is a challenging task.

I support a request for a MIB import capability into Orion/NPM.

HI Vinod,

You may consider upgrading to 10.4.2, and take advantage of the latest MIBs and Features. A cool new feature after 10.4 is the SNMP hardware monitoring on some devices.  In the past you would have to add UDPs for Fans, temp, etc.

And the upgrade will get you the latest MIB.

Just something to consider.
