Network Capacity Planning

I am very new to SolarWinds and have to learn a lot about this product. Want to understand what sort of process SolarWinds NPM or any other module applies with respect to capacity planning? Meaning once the data is collected over a period of time - does NPM applies e.g. Linear Regression and or Holts Winter process to provide projections? Thank you.

Hi,

You can display trend line and extend their time span to the future in order to get a linear-regression-type prediction.

You can do this on detailed charts on most metrics (CPU, memory, interface throughputs) by editing the attributes of charts and playing with the custom time period.

We are thinking of more sophisticated analytics in the future.

yeah i dont think this has any analytics in it

it just extends the line based on averages for the graph you are looking at to give you a feel of the progression
