in 10.1, does server need to be part of domain

I would like to have users be queried for their username & password on login, using the Active Domain server for authentication.

Is this possible using 10.1?

Does my NPM server have to be on the domain for any of the new AD authentication to work?

Where is the document that discusses the configuration?

The Orion Server will need to be apart of the Domain to see and add the Users. You will need to be on Orion 10.1 to use true Active Directory Authentication:

 

 

New Orion Web Console user accounts may be created by any web console administrator. The following procedure creates a new web console user account.

To create a new user account:

1. Log in to the Orion Web Console as an administrator.

2. Click Settings in the top right of the web console, and then click Account Manager in the Accounts grouping of the Orion Website Administration page.

3. Click Add New Account.

4. You can select Windows individual account or Windows group account.

5. Enter in a user that has permission to search for accounts on Active Directory or local domain. It must be entered in as Domain\User

5. Search for the User or Group you wish to add

6. Select the account, then click Submit.
