Possible to create page file alerting if only NPM is installed?

Hi Al,

Need one quick help...

I have NPM 11.0 running on platform 2014.2.0.

There is a requirement to monitoring Page file, disk space etc. Would like to know if this is possible, only having NPM in place.

I guess for disk space, I need to make use of Volume percent option, right?

Disk space is easy. Under Trigger Condition, change the drop down in the upper left from Node to Volume. You then have available space, percent used, and a few others available to you.

Page file monitoring would likely require SAM. What specifically do you want to monitor?

Havent got details for page file but was asked to check on possibilities.

You would not be able to check page file with just NPM, but disk space is included with NPM and it is easy to setup alerts based on it. You can set it up to alert based on MB free, or percentage free.

In order to monitor page file, you would need SAM (formerly known as APM) which will allow you to check on this and a lot more. Below is a demo page where it is reporting page file usage:

In that case, get a price quote for SAM from your preferred vendor and present that to them. There are tons of things you can do with SAM beyond this. You can monitor on file existence, age, size, count, change, and more - including file content, which isn't really applicable to page files.

yes I m aware of the number of features tat SAM gives. We do have, but in another instance.

Probably for the one I was requested to check, they are not very keen for additional modules for now.

I'm not sure if there is an alert out of the box for page file, but if you click on demo link I provided it is pulling page file usage and you can then generate a custom alert for it.
